With the latest party in town, attending a wedding, catching the screening of one of the most awaited movie or even Sunday  brunching - with so many social events in your kitty you can surely make your feet do the talking!! 

How about donning the iconic LBD with a gold box clutch and yuppies, those cute pink pumps. The black, gold and pink combo is the new thing in tinsel town! Be sure to garner all the attention at the party. Don’t forget to accessorize a bit more with a gold choker to complement your clutch. 

Meeting people, munching on those delicious snacks, or even shaking a leg at the dance floor sounds socially exciting, yet how all all this be possible if the footwear is something glitzy but hard to carry? Wear your favourite anarkali or half saree ( if sarees are manageable for you) and let your feet steal the show with those nude or gold ballerinas. Ballerinas are highly symbolic of panache, comfort and elegance. 

Yup, that chick flick with your girlies and what better way to be a slice of the character than being a Shoe Girl. ;) Go iconic and keep the shoes exclusive! Where your pals would be in floral tops, cute flats and black leather pants you take the casual route with a pair of stylish denims, your favourite white tee, your black handbag and try your hard at suede shoes. Go for a contrast since your outfit is a staple combo, try pink, orange or yellow. The look will totally rock!!

Food coupled with Fashion is perfectly balanced! Why not wear your wedges instead of going for the regulars. They're neither too  high nor too  flat but yet exude a look to die for.

 Finally, what better way to step out for a stroll in the pleasant evening with your favourite look: a tee, comfy pants and slippers!! :'D

My Fashion Show guide! :))

“The Couture Week” clearly spells out Glitz, Glamour and Vogue!! A wonderful experience is surely on the cards. The venue, the show, the collection, the designers, the people and yes, your charismatic presence is what matters to make this date with fashion an impressive one.

An outing with style must surely be complimented likewise.  What to wear, what to carry in that bag and how to exude confidence is on an attendee’s mind.

Sure you don’t want to be looking like a make-up kit or plain Jane or rather a model for a designer when you have merely come as a spectator. 

Firstly, keep your options open and do not limit yourself to a dress, a signature bag or stilettos! Play with style- Try to sport the sling or the rectangular clutch when fellow guests opt for the typical mini totes and iconic bags owned by every third person- reserve that for your Sunday brunch.

Witnessing a Fashion Show is not only admiring the beautiful creations by designers but also socializing. Thus, footwear must be of your comfort. Trying something for the first time will be a little difficult. Go in for your favourite nude or black pair of ballerinas and if you seem to be comfortable in those pretty peep-toes, go ahead! :)

Coordinating your ensemble is of prime importance. Once again, comfort is more vital than being a glam doll like a mannequin. The classic LBD is quite common and an all-time favourite. Go for a peplum top with a shrug or a cute girly top with black pants.  A maxi dress would be a good choice too.

A rendezvous with bags!

 ‘Much Ado about a Bag’- primarily because it completes one’s look; A must have black bag, silver bag or classic white bag and definitely an iconic!!  If you thought it ends there.... think again. ;)

As clichéd as it sounds, bags are undoubtedly a woman’s best friend.  Not having the right bag with the right dress would probably make an ensemble look incomplete.

It’s quite a common scenario to be awed by the display and wonder whether these were probably the ideal bags destined for your closet and only later does it strike that there is something quite similar lying in your closet!

Nevertheless, as strange as it may seem, factually a bag defines one’s style and persona. How about teaming a cute glittery pink clutch with an LBD rather that teaming that gorgeous LBD with a white sling that seems nothing more than your daily sling; though black and white may seem the most suitable combination, in most cases.

A bag does not only enhance one’s look, persona or fashion quotient but also paves way for versatility.  Go ahead and play with that bag collection of yours with these typical instances:

Pair that sober anarkali with a colour co-ordinated box type clutch, the jeans-tee look with a cream or beige or light coloured shoulder bag or even a tote, that favourite floral dress with a mini sling and a quilted bag for the stereotypical day look.

Gone are the days where you can only flaunt an LBD or an LWD or even a peplum at a cocktail party or night out.
It’s quite vital for each of us to look our best and stand out. Nevertheless, are any of the above the ONLY apt choice? Well then, here is a peek into a saree gown. 

A saree gown is not an ensemble that is symbolic of Indian culture and its roots. However, it is a pretty piece of attire that has a Western appeal coupled with Indian charm.

Hey everyone!  It would be certainly interesting to learn how one’s choices of an ice cream flavour would be related to their zodiac sign. Here is an insight. :)

To be quite candid, this is an out of the blue topic that I received from my readers.  I do not have a command over this subject like I have over Fashion and Occult Science. Nevertheless, this post will give you an insight into what a career in the “Jewellery World” holds for individuals interested in any aspect of jewellery.

It is presumed that being a jewellery designer is the most lucrative and safe choice for a career in this field. There are individuals who do not enjoy the process involved in creating a design for a ring, necklace, pendant or any other ornament. This does not pose to be a barrier at all. In this article, there are an array of choices that suit one’s flair, interests and needs.

A person is very conversant with what is happening in the jewellery world right from the latest collections, the latest designers on the block to the tastes and preferences of the individuals on a geographical platform- a Jewellery Merchandiser is the apt choice. It would give the concerned individual a clear insight into the working of this industry and also an opportunity to explore their talent.

Bringing things to life and making them desirable for everyone, if this is what someone swears by, it fits the Visual Merchandiser’s hat! That’s not about it. A visual merchandiser has an arduous task to make even the little pearl stand out and leave a trail of sheer brilliance and creativity.

Heard of a jewellery consultant? They are not salespersons, but, individuals who have an expertise on the various precious stones, which creation is suitable for which occasion and definitely if the creation suits the individual's persona! Interesting!

Marketing and advertising is where someone’s interest lies. Well then, clothes, businesses and job recruitment are not the only fields where marketing and advertising are a prime requirement; the Jewellery World needs to be marketed by these panel of experts who would reach the masses. To elaborate more on jewellery marketing, the concerned expert must study consumer behaviour on a large scale and cater to them keeping their tastes and preferences in mind.

What's my Zodiac Fragrance!

 This post is all about which fragrance would be in sync with your Zodiac Sign! Sounds interesting? Have a read! :)

I was asked by a few people whether a fragrance can make a difference.  I was speechless!  And remarked, go try it out. :)

Aries:

Originality and a self-assure nature run in your veins! Being a leader is what gives you contentment. Your instincts earn you those extra brownie points thus making a wonderful first impression. So, a fragrance that will grab your attention and revitalise your sense would be bright citrus ones like Orange and Bergamot! Rose is a good pick too! :)

Taurus:

A true Taurean is a very homely person. They appreciate love and beauty and love it to bits. Being so, they will be on cloud nine by using gourmand and floral fragrances. These fragrances will not only boost their mood but also ease the possibilities of getting angry or feeling insecure at times.  Surprisingly, usage of these fragrances, over a period of time, will guard Taureans from being misjudged as stubborn or authoritative. :)

Gemini:

Driven by cheerfulness and an easy-going personality, Geminis fragrance would be an epitome of charm owing to the fact that they are gifted with a sense of charm and wit! Geminis yearn for social interaction and excitement so an unusual fragrance with contrasting elements would be a perfect buy! Indian Wear!

I was quite amused when I learnt about Indian Wear and its raging popularity overseas as well! Nonetheless, Indian wear is beyond the salwars, sarees, lehengas and ghagra cholis.

Weddings are an exciting event to be a part of. And, most of us have been a part of cocktail parties. We look around and we see that most of the young women are in a Classic LBD and a south sea pearl neck piece.
My comments: Beautiful LBDs that exude vibrancy and grace coupled with that South Sea Pearl Neck piece. Treat to the eyes! Is it not? :).

Picture this: A young woman walks in a "Saree Gown." Yes, you may be less acquainted with this term. Yet, a saree gown is a paradoxical mix of fluidity and construction, the new silhouette combines the six-yard staple's classic structure with the practicality of the zipped-up gown. Here's a picture. :)






You may remark that you can't get over your undying love for salwars and anrkalis. Have you thought of sporting the embroidered jacket anarkalis?! They are quite conventional in demand and is a great choice for a festive season like Diwali or Raksha Bandhan. Or, wear it at a function. Also, if you are running late for a wedding and you just don't have the time to drape that saree, don the jacket anarkali. Here's a sneak-peek.

My take on Fashion as a Career:

Sure you like to design and play with colours! Nonetheless, can you make it your career? And, what scope does Fashion have besides designing?

Here is the answer. :)

It is quite possible to make it a career. You can surely intern with some labels and contribute your ideas in the making. In the process, develop your own line when you have ample capital and support.

A career in Fashion is not confined to DESIGNING. There are areas of specialization. Such as, Marketing, Merchandising, Editor of a Fashion Magazine and a Fashion Blogger in combination with being an online retailer. Quite diversified!

I'm often asked these questions:

Can these be bread and butter for a Good Lifestyle?

Why not? When it comes to Merchandising, you can advise designers to sell their collection and share the profits and revenue. To substantiate, it is like a financial analyst/ ad-visor giving inputs on investment ideas.

As a Fashion Designer, you can definitely earn a higher margin of profit by simply planning your production cost wisely such as procurement of raw materials and use of labour. 

Fashion Marketing!

" It's all about creating a trend and executing your creation."

Just like the Half-Saree trend set by Manish Malhotra's line that drew all Fashionistas to don it with poise, grace and elegance.

Your next question would be whether writing and giving inputs to a Fashion Magazine make a good living.

My answer to your question is: Can a company or an entity do without a Human Resource Manager? Your opinion is Oxygen to the Magazine. In addition, you get perks and opportunities to be a guest of honour at events where you are free to express yourself and practice being a private consultant and help your client look Gorgeous! Isn't that lucrative?
